With a heavy heart we honor one of the 3 Legends who our stadium was named after, Jack Whelan who passed away on Saturday November 17th.
Jack has been the longtime administrator of the Butte American Legion baseball program for more than four decades and has been instrumental in not only starting Butte American Legion Baseball in the late 60’s but influential in keeping it running to this day. Judge Whelan has spent countless hours serving our program and community, doing from everything to working concession stands to driving the bus, his dedication and commitment to Butte American Legion baseball will never be surpassed! We are eternally grateful for his service and guidance to our program, any player who participated in our program for the past 50+ years will undoubtedly have fond memory of him.
