Our baseball family lost the last of our stadiums namesake on Saturday August 13th as Jim “Fonz” Hanley passed at the age of 90. Fonz’s name will always be associated with American Legion Baseball in Butte as he spent the majority of his life supporting our organization, without a doubt his contributions to our program will never be surpassed. Anyone who was lucky enough to play for Fonz will undeniably have fond memories of his passion for the game of baseball and a story of how he impacted not only their knowledge of the game but more importantly their lives. Fonz was truly one of a kind, he will surely be missed by anyone who was fortunate to know him but his legacy will never be forgotten. In honor of his passing we will light up 3Legends stadium for 90 minutes on Friday August 19th at 8:00 as a tribute to each year he graced us.
